Canada has announced its first ever all programs Express Entry draw since pandemic outbreak by inviting a total of 3900 eligible candidates. This draw needed the lowest CRS score of 478 for the candidates who are selected under this draw. This draw is the clear indication that Canada has resumed all-program Express Entry draws and currently issuing ITAs to Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) candidates.

When coronavirus began to halt all the Canada Immigration process and cripple the economy worldwide, Canada imposed travel restriction and several healthcare reforms policies to contain the spread. During that phase, Express Entry limited draws towards only Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. And, Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) candidates were not considered.

This was a strategic move by the govt. to invite only CEC and PNP candidates who are already in Canada and therefore cannot be affected by travel restrictions. However, it is important to understand that even when Canada was not including FSWP and FSTP candidates, some of the CEC and PNP invited candidates in the previous draws were also outside of Canada. And, this suggests that despite the travel restrictions, Canada want skilled professionals to support their economy. And, current draw is the revelation that Canada inviting candidates from all federal programs with in minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score.

At this point, Canada allowed permanent residency for a total of 53,800 candidates in 2020 which is a record till date.
